Matt Grevers made his second Olympic team by finishing first in the 100m backstroke with a time of 52.08 at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials in Omaha, Nebraska. Grevers’ time was the fastest in the world this year and hundreths of a second off the world record. Grevers won a Silver medal in the 100m backstroke at the 2008 Beijing Games and will look to medal again in London in August.

Nick Thoman placed second in the 100m backstroke, only 0.78 seconds behind Grevers, qualifying for his first Olympic team. Thoman currently holds the world record in the 100m sc backstroke with a time of 49.84, which he set in 4x100 medley relay at 2009 Dual in the Pool.
Also qualifying to London was TYR athlete
Ricky Berens who finished third in the 200m freestyle. Berens will be a part of the U.S. 4x200m freestyle relay team at the 2012 London Games. Berens will make his second appearance as a 4x200m freestyle team member, but his first as a TYR athlete.
