Pip Taylor Wins Memphis Triathlon
At the 2009 Memphis in May Triathlon, Pip Taylor crossed the finish first place, recording the fastest swim and bike splits of the race. She was first out of the water to complete the 1.5-kilometer swim in 17 minutes and 42 seconds and then fought off competitors for the 40-kilometer bike course in one hour and seven seconds. Taylor maintained her lead through the 10-kilometer run around Casper Lake to win the race in a final time of one hour, 59 minutes and 36 seconds.
“It was great to come away with a win and I think the training benefits of racing will really help in this next block,” said Taylor. “Plus it was a really fun race - great course, lots of really cool friendly people, really well run and organised and a different and challenging format - I hope to be back there in 2010.”
Taylor races next at Ironman 70.3 Kansas on June 14th.
